Community Trauma-Informed Yoga Class- FREE
This 45-minute trauma-informed yoga class is designed to gently and safely guide those affected by the recent tragic floods in Central Texas back into their bodies. This class is for therapists, educators, first responders, and anyone who is directly affected, overwhelmed or whose trauma surrounding loss or natural disasters has resurfaced due to the recent floods.
The intent of this class is to offer accessible somatic tools for coping with distress and grief. Expect mindful breath work, and slow, supportive movements, to help release stuck bodily tension and bring balance to the nervous system.
This will not be a therapy space to verbally process trauma, but will be a healing space to allow the body to begin to regulate. No special equipment or yoga experience is needed, but comfortable clothes are recommended.
Throughout the class, students are invited to move at their own pace, make choices that honor their unique experiences, and cultivate moments of rest and regulation. This compassionate space aims to nurture resilience, foster embodied awareness, and remind participants that, even in times of devastation, our bodies can be places of refuge and healing.
A zoom link will be sent the day of the class.
Day: Saturday July 12th
Time: Noon-12:45 PM
